Top Off - Without Box

I've only been fly fishing for about a year so I'm not the most experienced. Peter not only gave me great flies to use but also explained why he gave me the flies and gave me tips on how to fish them! The pricing is already great but the knowledge given to me was even more valuable. I also caught several fish the same day I got the flies and tippet! I was fortunate enough to do a local pick up and I was blown away by the number of flies available. I can't wait to purchase more flies and learn more about fly fishing from Ascent!

I bought a box loaded up by Peter and headed to the river the next day. I decided to do a bit of experimenting: On one rod, I used a rig that worked for me a couple of weeks before - but we all know that may not mean much. I fished that rig for about 45 minutes with a take, but no fish. I switched rods to one rigged with the flies Peter selected for me for this time and this river - along with my interpretation weight, depth, etc. On the 5th drift: fish. And then a couple more. So I tied up a slightly different rig, but still with Peter's recommended flies. More fish. I fished for about 5 hours, deliberating used 8 of Peter's flies on a 3 nymph rig and caught 6 fish on 5 of those flies. And this is at Deckers. I think the results speak for themselves.

Ascent put together a quality combination of flies for my day long outing on Jefferson Lake. The activity on the lake centered on nymphs and emergers and the flies worked well. I was not prepared for the hatch and missed my opportunity to use the dry fly's in my box!

I have never been disappointed! Peter and his staff do an excellent work. Their combination of skill and knowledge far surpass anything I"ve ever encountered. I have no intention of doing anywhere else.

All the flies I received are really well tied. I'm impressed with the concept that ascent has done great idea. I plan to make more purchases in the future.
