Euro Nymphing 101 Class

Euro-Nymphing, Contact Nymphing, Czech-Nymphing, Tactical Nymphing, Tight-
line nymphing…What’s the craze?  How is this different from conventional nymphing and why do euro nymphers consistently catch more fish?

Join Ascent Fly Fishing for "Euro Nymphing 101" to learn this potent fishing technique and add a new tool to your fly fishing arsenal.

Ascent Fly Fishing’s “Euro-Nymphing 101 Class” is designed to teach you the basics of the Euro-Nymphing method. In the classroom portion you will learn about tight-line theory, about the specialized equipment, terminal tackle, rigging, on the water technique, leader building and selection, euro flies, and the casting styles necessary to become a confident and successful Euro nympher! In the second day of the class, you will put theory into practice as you apply the techniques of dissecting the river, fishing it, and making necessary adjustment to your rig, casts, and drift on the water.

Each class is limited to 4 participants. and there will be a 2:1 ratio of students to instructors.  The classroom portion will be held at the Ascent Fly Fishing fly shop located at
10143 W Chatfield Ave. Unit 1 Littleton, CO 80127 while OTW sessions will be held on the the front range water with the best EU fishing conditions at the time of the class. 

Classes will run on Friday evenings from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and the OTW session will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. 

What to Bring:

• A notepad and pen 
• Lunch and a drink for the OTW class
• A Valid fishing license
• A false humilty as you start to outfish your friends!

What is Provided:

• Participants are welcome to use their own waders, boots, euro nymphing rod and reel or can use ones provided by the shop.  
• A copy of George Daniel’s book, Dynamic Nymphing ($40 retail value).
• 12 - Tungsten Euro Flies
• The materials needed to build 1 euro nymphing leader from scratch
• 1 - Prebuilt Cortland Euro Leader
