Intro to Fly Fishing Class
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at fly fishing but not known where to start? Do you enjoy conventional fishing and want to look like a young Brad Pitt in the movie A River Runs Through It? Does your significant other or friend fly fish, but they stink at teaching? If so, this is the Intro to Fly Fishing Class for you! In this 2 hour, all ages, intro class we will de-mystify the gear, vocabulary, rigging, knots, casting and provide hands-on instruction for all of the above.
Items that are covered include:

Introduction to Fly Fishing Equipment, rods and reels - set-up and use

Defining Fly Fishing Terms & Techniques (How is a Bobber different from a Strike Indicator?)

Demonstrate how to "rig a fly rod" – assembling the pieces and the reel through tying on leader, tippet and, perhaps most importantly, the fly (or flies…)

Demonstrate the four most important knots (loop to loop, clinch, enhanced clinch and triple surgeon’s knot

Introduction to basic fly-casting techniques
Intro classes are limited to 10 students and will be held at the Ascent Fly Fishing fly shop located at 10143 W Chatfield Ave. Unit 1 Littleton, CO 80127. Classes run from 9:30 am – 11:30 am on Saturday mornings, every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from April through October, weather permitting. All materials, fly rods and reels are provided for the student for use in the class.
