  1. Chocolate Thunder flies are the best

Posted by Unknown on 26th Jul 2021

Fished Eleven Mile Canyon for 4 consecutive days, using CT flies almost exclusively. They were wildly popular with the fish, getting bites almost immediately after casting. We tried many other similar flies, and got no fish-interest at all. Amazing.

  2. Caught 5 fish in 5 casts at Deckers!

    Posted by @donovankim on 22nd Jun 2020

Love the chocolate thunder from Ascent. I always appreciate how well made these flies are especially because of the price. I fish mainly 11 mile canyon and Deckers and every time I go the chocolate thunder does well. Thanks!

  3. A Decker must have

Posted by Larry D on 28th Jan 2020

A perfect winter fly on the South Platte and the North Platte.

  4. Magnet for Browns

Posted by kevin schneider on 23rd May 2019

I fish the "Driftless" Trout Region in the Midwest. I used these flies while fishing the Canyon at Decker's Colorado and caught a 22" Brown on a size #22 Chocolate Thunder. I had a few left over and I started using them in the Driftless. I don't leave home without these in my fly box anymore. They are like a magnet for Browns no matter where you fly fish in the world.

  5. Chocolate Thunder for South Platte around Deckers

Posted by Bruce Dickinson on 27th Feb 2019

One of the best nymphs for the Deckers area.

  6. Chocolate Thunder

    Posted by G on 23rd Dec 2017

Don't leave home without them. The most productive emerger in my box.

  7. A MUST have in Deckers/Cheesman

Posted by Michael Lapham on 31st Oct 2016

This fly is a must have for anyone fishing the South Platte, and especially in the Deckers/Cheesman Canyon waters. I have had a ton of success using the Ascent specific Chocolate Thunder (#22), really a must own for anyone fishing in that area.
