While not much to look at, the slim black profile and contrasting wire rib of the Black Beauty has proven to be the downfall of more trout than we can count. With almost 17,000 species of midge crowding our North American waters, when fished in several sizes, the Black Beauty can be effectively used for matching at least a third of those species, and remains among our favorite larva patterns.

April Money Pattern
This pattern was money on my April trip in NM and CO. Especially when the water was under 46 degrees. It was on my rig 90% of the time and was producing. Thanks Peter!

Black Beauty
I've caught lots of fish on these black beauties. Nicely tied and durable.
