The River Oracle Sci-Fly Seine can be used with any standard fishing net, and is a simple tool that will give you a clear view at the food in the water and enable you to match it to the best fly in your fly box.
How it works:
- Stretch the Sci-Fly Seine around the basket of your fishing net.
- Gather the loose elastic band in one hand and grip it to the neck of the fishing net.
- Press the net and seine into the streambed.
- Stir and kick the streambed upstream of the seine.
- Examine your sample and match the hatch!

Exactly as I suspected
If your looking to collect a good amount of samples to understand really what is going on in the river, this tool is perfect. You'll get more information which, in turn, will allow you study or enable you to pick out which fly to use. My only difficulty for me was holding on the the loose ends of the seine around my net handle and kicking up the bottom. Im sure you'll do better. The product is well made and extremely helpful.

This is a 'must have' item. There is no way to significantly improve your fishing for less money. Watch a few YouTube videos on how to use it, and/or attend an Ascent class. Knowing exactly what bugs are in the water will boost your confidence and increase the number of fish you hook up. After a few months with it, I feel lost on the days I forget to pack it.
