Miracle Nymph
While it’s easy to get carried away in the fly shop and pack your boxes with a ton of different midge patterns, sometimes it’s best to just keep it simple with a tried-and-true pattern like the Miracle Nymph. Originally tied for the ultra-picky and well trained tailwater trout of the South Platte River in Colorado, this understated midge pupa (emerger) pattern is thinly tied with subtle hints of grey and a pinch of copper flash. Don’t let the simplicity of this pattern underwhelm you, because it is a consistent trout sticker and worthy of a place in your fly box!
