If we had only one dry fly pattern to fish for every caddis hatch, and were given some allowance to change up the sizes and colors, we would without a doubt choose the Elk Hair Caddis. The quintessential Generalist pattern, the Elk Hair Caddis can be used to match almost every caddis species in our water! Perfect for fishing during the dawn or dusk hours when the light is low and traditional dry flies are hard to track on the surface of the water, the hi-vis wing of this caddis pattern stands out like a beacon to the fly fisher, while the trout are none the wiser!

Caught a brookie on the second cast!

Caught a bunch of fish the first evening I tried them. Highly visible and durable would buy more if I needed them

Solid flies that last

Peter’s people in Kenya tie a good strong fly, which means I can get more fish per fly when those feisty cutts start chewing on them. The Hi-Vis helps to track the fly with my older eyes and those shady 11-mile canyon afternoons..
