X Caddis
The close cousin to the traditional Elk Hair Caddis, the X-Caddis imitates the transition for the pupa to adult life stages as the caddis emerges through the surface of the water and spreads its wings for the first time. The emergence through the surface of the water can be a vulnerable and treacherous time for many caddis as they struggle out of their pupal skin, making them vulnerable to cruising trout.
