The Sparkle Wing Midge Emerger is one of our our favorite small attractor midge patterns, and is a killer fly when targeting fish feeding during a midge hatch. Available with either a black or pearl body, the Sparkle Wing Midge Emerger will cover a host of waters, midge species, and seasons. Fish it as a dropper when the trout are rolling and rising, and hang on tight!

gentle sinking attracted cutthroat
I've had several successful trips with this tiny fly. I let it sink in front of the trout and it convinced them to bite.

the cutthroat noticed this one
This is the one fly that got the attention of the cutthroat trout in Blue Lake (below Twining Peak, Colo.). I used this as a dropper below a small white dry. I couldn't land the cutthroat because it quickly snapped my line (4x tippet) and left me with the sad dry fly dangling. It was mid-July when this dropper worked so well--I'll keep trying through August!
