If you are new to the sport of fly fishing or are returning after a long hiatus, visiting a fly shop and viewing the military-like ranks of flies can be somewhat intimidating.  There are certain patterns that both the novice and seasoned fly angler can fish with confidence, as they can be used to match more hatches and species with fewer flies.

The Search & Destroy Fly Selection has been crafted as a lean, mean, multi-water, four-season fly selection.  Packed with 2 dozen dry flies and 2 dozen wet flies, you will receive go-to patterns to match both the adult and juvenile life stages of mayflies, caddis flies, and stone flies, while also touching on midges and worms.  These patterns are packed in one of our swingleaf fly boxes (508 fly capacity), with flies of each family loaded on their own row (midge row, mayfly row, etc.).

At just $75, this selection will equip you with a solid selection of flies, enabling you to get on the water and be successful without breaking the bank!

Dry patterns included in this box are:

  • Griffith's Gnats (Adult Midge)
  • Mosquito (Adult Midge)
  • Parachute Adams (Adult Mayfly)
  • Parachute Blue Winged Olives (Adult Mayfly)
  • Parachute Pale Morning Duns (Adult Mayfly)
  • Royal Wulffs (Adult Mayfly)
  • Elk Hair Caddis (Adult Caddisfly)
  • Stimulators (Adult Stonefly)
  • Parachute Hopper (Terrestrial)
  • Parachute Cricket (Terrestrial)
  • Foam Beetle (Terrestrial)
Wet patterns included in this box are:
  • Black Beauty (Midge Larva)
  • 3D Epoxy Bloodworm (Midge Larva)
  • Bead head Flashback Pheasant Tails (Young Mayfly or Stonefly)
  • Bead head Flashback Hares Ears (Young Mayfly or Stonefly)
  • Beadhead Prince Nymphs (Young Mayfly or Stonefly)
  • Beadhead Copper Johns (Young Mayfly or Stonefly)
  • Caddis Larva (Young Caddisfly)
  • Z-Wing Caddis Emergers (Young Caddisfly)
  • Patt's Rubber Legs (Young Stonefly)
  • San Juan Worms (Worms)
The sizes of flies dedicated to each pattern and family are based on their importance to feeding trout and fly anglers and have been selected to match more species with fewer flies.

*This box includes a central page which divides the two sides and provides additional storage.

    Everything you need in Colorado

I'm not a hardcore fisherman so for me, this box has everything you need. I love the Elk Hair Caddis. I swear I catch trout all over the state any time of day/year with that fly. In addition these flies come in a really nice case. If you're looking to jump start your fly collection, this is the place to start. Also love supporting a great local company that does a lot for the community.
