My introduction to the Grey Ugly was a memorable one, as I was out-fished by three generations of Wyoming women along the headwaters of the North Plate River. Armed with both fly and spinning rods, fishing this fly both on top of and beneath the surface of the water, Grandma, Mother, and Daughter in-law put on a clinic on how to catch fish! The big brother to the Griffith's Gnat and Renegade fly patterns, the Grey Ugly would be more aptly named "The Sure Thing" or "Silver Bullet" when fish are feeding on large Chironomids or Mosquito!

Great North Park and Wyoming pattern
Quality is excellent. Tough to find this pattern, so I was happy to see Ascent offer it.

Quality looks great
The quality of the flies looks great, beautifully tied. They arrived quickly!! I was excited to find these, I have been looking for them for a while. I want to give these as gifts to the fishermen and women in my family. Can't wait to do give them as gifts.

Great Fly
I've had old time local fishermen tell me about this classic fly for years. Not a common pattern to find. This one is beautifully tied. Size 16: First cast onto North Catamount Reservoir on Pikes Peak netted me a 16" fat rainbow!
