As scientists, we at Ascent Fly Fishing think that we have brought a unique product to the water with our GHOST monofilament tippet. Our passion for making the science of the fly more practical and accessible by giving our clients a better product at a better price helped bring GHOST to life after years of research and work.

What makes our monofilament stand out from the pack?

  • Superb knot strength and abrasion resistance
  • Ultra sensitive to strikes
  • Minimal stretch
  • Minimal loop memory
  • Natural tendency to float, making it ideal for dry fly rigs
  • SPOOLED WITH 2X MORE MATERIAL THAN OTHER BRANDS (50 METERS OR 54.7 YARDS PER SPOOL).

Serious anglers need serious tools, not overpriced ones.

    Ghost tippet 3,4,5,6X

Posted by Mike on 15th Apr 2024

Elastic holder on tippet spools do not have the hole through which tippet is dispensed. Result is that tippet comes off spools on fishing vest. Also, 6X tippet breaking strength appears to be too weak. Broke off 3 fish that shouldn’t have broken off. Very disappointed with product.

As good as any brand you will try

I have been using these leaders and tippets for years, you get way more line on a spool, and at a much cheaper price. I fish 40 to 60 days per year and use these exclusively, the line quality is excellent - you don't get undue breakage, in fact I'm usually surprised how much force it takes to break off when you do catch a tree. It won't cause you problems like that one very popular brands that I won't mention...

More tippet for the same price as competitors!

This tippet is just as good as any other name brand of tippet I’ve used. A lot more tippet for the same prices as others. I only wish that the rubber band that holds the tippet on the spool had markings on them to indicate what size it is.
